What this covers
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Browsers also offer other storage, such as local storage and cache storage, that works in a similar way. This page lists everything this website stores on your device. We group them as necessary, analytics and marketing. Necessary items do not need your consent because the shop does not work without them. Analytics and marketing items are only set if you agree.
Necessary
| Name | Kind | What it does | How long | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| vc_admin | Cookie (HttpOnly, SameSite Lax) | Keeps a staff member signed in to the admin area. It is only set when staff sign in and is never set for shoppers. | 12 hours | This website |
| vc_cart_v1 | Local storage | Remembers the items in your cart. | Until you remove the items, finish your order or clear your browser data | This website |
| vc_ship_v1 | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose delivery or collection and the postcode you typed, so the shop can show delivery fees and areas. | Until you clear your browser data | This website |
| vc_orders_v1 | Local storage | Remembers the references of your last few orders so the Orders page can find them. Contains no names or addresses. | Until you clear your browser data | This website |
| vc_consent_v1 | Local storage | Remembers your cookie choice and the version of this policy you chose under. | Until you clear your browser data or this policy changes | This website |
| vc-static-v1 | Cache storage (service worker) | Keeps static files, such as scripts, images and icons, so the shop loads faster and can be installed on your phone. It never stores pages, orders or anything personal. | Until a new version of the shop replaces it | This website |
Analytics
We do not currently use analytics. If we add it in future, it will stay off until you switch it on and we will list each item here first.
Marketing
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, and no advertising companies receive information from this website.
Third parties
When you pay, you are sent to the PayFast payment page. PayFast may set its own cookies there to complete and secure the payment. Those are covered by PayFast's own cookie and privacy notices, not ours. If you tap a WhatsApp link you leave this website for WhatsApp.
Changing your choice
When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Reject all and Accept all are equally easy. You can change your mind at any time:
We keep a record of your choice, with a scrambled version of your IP address and no name or email, so that we can show we respected it. You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings, and the banner will ask again.
More about how we handle personal information is in our privacy notice.
